Melrose Park, IL, 04.24.23 – Cook County’s leadership was well-represented at the Melrose Park Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfast on April 11, 2023, bringing together local business owners, community leaders, and elected officials to discuss the issues and opportunities for growth and development. Cook County Board Commissioner of the 16th District, Frank Aguilar, and Cook County Assessor, Fritz Kaegi, were on hand with Village of Melrose Park Mayor, Ronald Serpico, acknowledging the county’s ongoing efforts to support small businesses. Mayor Serpico noted, “Cook County has implemented a range of initiatives aimed at providing resources and support to local entrepreneurs, including tax incentives, training programs, and access to capital.”
Officials emphasized the importance of collaboration between local businesses and government in driving economic growth and building strong communities. Many local business owners expressed their appreciation for the county’s commitment to supporting small businesses and for the opportunity to connect with county officials. “We’re proud to have Cook County leadership be part of this community, and we’re committed to working with leaders to support our businesses and create opportunities for economic growth,” said Dr. Douglas Olson, Director of Strategic Initiatives and Business Development for the Village of Melrose Park.
